Critical valves tested in minutes. Onshore and offshore.

On production sites, valves must close tight. Valve Sense detects and estimates internal leaks with acoustic emission, in operation and without dismantling, so testing no longer means waiting for pressure build-up tests.

01 · Critical process valves

Two minutes instead of a pressure build-up test.

Critical process valves are often tested with a pressure build-up test. It takes time, and parts of the process may have to stop while pressure builds. Valve Sense checks the same valve in about 2 minutes while the plant keeps running.

  • About 2 minutes per valve
  • In operation, no dismantling
  • Result and estimated leak rate on the device

Before and after

From pressure build-up testing to a two-minute check.

Before

Pressure build-up test

Time-consuming, one valve after the other. Parts of the process may have to stop, with a result only after pressure has built up.

With Valve Sense

Valve Sense

Test a valve in about 2 minutes during operation. The result and estimated leak rate appear directly on the device.

Impact

Up to 90% less inspection time.

02 · Relief valves on the flare

A leaking relief valve keeps the flare burning.

Safety and pressure relief valves connected to a flare stack must stay tight in normal operation. If one leaks, gas goes to the flare continuously: product is lost and emissions rise. Valve Sense finds the leaking valve so it can be repaired.

  • Easily test valves connected to a flare header
  • Identify the leaking one online, instead of taking them all off
  • Repair it and reduce flaring, product loss and emissions

From detection to repair

Find the valve that keeps the flare burning.

  1. 01

    Gas passes a closed seat

One leaking relief valve sends gas into the shared flare header during normal operation.

  2. 02

    Test valves online

Valve Sense checks the relief valves one by one and identifies the leaking valve without removing them all.

  3. 03

    Repair the source

Once the leaking valve is repaired, continuous flaring stops and only the pilot flame remains.

03 · Christmas trees

Wellhead integrity, checked in minutes.

The valves of a Christmas tree isolate the well. In production, the master valves and the production wing valve are open, while the swab valve and the kill wing valve stay closed and must not pass. Valve Sense checks closed valves acoustically, in about 2 minutes per valve.

  • In operation: check the normally closed swab and kill wing valves
  • During a shut-in or integrity test: check the master and production wing valves as well
  • About 2 minutes per valve, result and estimated leak rate on the device
