From pipeline to refinery. Critical valves tested in operation.
From compressor stations and gas storage to refinery units and tank farms, closed valves must stay tight. Valve Sense detects and estimates internal leaks with acoustic emission, in operation and without dismantling. For gas operators, it adds the leaks their LDAR programme cannot see.
LDAR plus Valve Sense: one holistic leak detection programme.
An LDAR programme looks at flanges, seals and fittings. A closed valve that passes gas into a vent line looks fine from the outside. Valve Sense adds exactly this view.
Find external and internal leaks at the same station.
- 01
LDAR view
Finds the external leak at flange F-12, where gas escapes to atmosphere.
- 02
Acoustic emission view
Valve Sense identifies closed vent valve V-07 passing gas internally into the vent line.

One findings list
Both results belong in the same leak detection programme, so the station is assessed as a whole.
Valves venting to atmosphere, checked in operation.
At compressor and measurement stations, several valves often end up in the same vent. When gas comes out of the vent, it is almost impossible to tell which valve leaks without a dedicated device. Gas transmission operators use Valve Sense as a complement to their LDAR programmes: each valve is tested in operation, with the result on site.
Blow down, safety and cold vent valves under control.
Gas storage operators use Valve Sense the same way as gas transmission operators: as a complement to LDAR, to find internal leaks through valves connected to a vent.

Less flaring from leaking relief valves.
Gas processing and LNG plants route safety and pressure relief valves to the flare. A leaking valve means continuous flaring, lost product and emissions. Valve Sense finds it in operation, together with leaking valves on vents.
- Test relief valves connected to a flare header in operation
- Locate the leaking valve before deciding what to repair
- Reduce flaring, product loss and emissions
Tight valves keep refinery units running.
In refineries, a passing valve affects product quality, efficiency and safety. Valve Sense checks critical process valves and relief valves in operation, without stopping the unit.
Fuel storage valves and hydrant systems.
Operators of product storage and distribution networks check valves in tank farms and hydrant pit systems. A leaking valve means product in the wrong place and a safety risk.

Operators on testing in operation.

Thanks to the fast detection and immediate verification, we were able to act quickly and prevent further potential emission release.

What used to take our team a full day can now be done in under an hour without shutting down a single valve. Valve Sense fits seamlessly into our operations, and the results are available on the spot. It has genuinely changed how we think about leakage inspection.

It's great how quickly you can test for critical leaks with Valve Sense. Inspecting valves used to be complicated and time-consuming in the past, but now it only takes us two minutes per valve.
